Exhibition at the National Library of Scotland
Crime
Scene Edinburgh: 20 Years of Rankin and Rebus
This exhibition is the culmination of a year of celebrations,
as Ian
Rankin looks back on 20 years with his fictional
detective, Inspector Rebus. It explores Ian's development
as a writer, his process of writing, the character arc of
Rebus, the key part that the city of Edinburgh plays in the
books and the various factors that have made the Inspector
Rebus books such a success. The exhibition coincides with
the publication of Ian's final Inspector Rebus novel, ( Exit
Music) and is sponsored by Scottish and Newcastle.
The exhibition will run from Wednesday 24 October 2007 to
Sunday 13 January 2008 at the National Library of Scotland,
George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday
and Sundays from 2pm to 5pm. Further detail on the exhibition
are available from Bruce Blacklaw, Acting Pr & External
Affairs Officer, National Library of Scotland on 0131 623
