Cara Black Murder in the Sentier Published July 2002 by Soho P. US. at £17.99 ISBN: 1569472785

Detective Aimee Leduc fears that a group reminiscent of the 1940s Red Terror gang is on the loose - and her long-lost mother may just be one of them...

"With its sights, sounds and colourful past, it's a particularly eventful and involving Paris visit" - Los Angeles Times
"I immensely enjoyed this exotic journey through Paris' Sentier district. An intricately plotted thriller" - Marcia Muller

The historic Sentier district was once filled with fashionable mansions but is now a nearly treeless neighbourhood housing the "rag" trade, Paris's Silicon Valley, and sleazy night clubs. Aimee is drawn to the area when a woman, just released from prison, tells her that she knew Aimee's long lost mother. To Aimee's astonishment and horror she learns that they were in prison together and that her mother was a member of a notorious 1970s Red terrorist gang. Before Aimee can garner any more information the woman is murdered. Desperate to find her mother, Aimee becomes embroiled with resurgent terrorists, no longer motivated by ideals, but ruthlessly seeking hidden loot, which also seems to have disappeared.
