This is the fourth crime novel to be written by J M Allen. She spent most of her working life in the teaching profession, but took early retirement in order to care for an elderly relative. This gave her the opportunity to take up writing, which had always been an ambition. Her interest in crime fiction stems from the short time that she took a secretarial post with the Northamptonshire County Constabulary before going to college. The author is married and lives in Hampshire.
