A girl is brutally raped and violently murdered - just one example of the decline in morals in America. The transvestite drug-addict responsible is captured but who is it that planted the evidence pointing the way for his arrest? A watch officer in charge of a nuclear missile bunker in Wyoming is only there because of his poor disciplinary record and his drinking problem isn t helping. Because of crime, corruption and societal decline, a few men are convinced there is the need for a change in direction of modern-day America. There is only one way to save the country from itself: a coup a coup against the American government. And the State of the Union Address will be delivered soon...
Bader lives in America and England, travels whenever he can, has been completely around the world five times, driven a car through Russia, spent time with the Stoney and Blackfoot Indians, worked at everything from horse wrangling to building oil drilling platforms in the sub-arctic, and on occasion has taken time enough to mix experience with observation and write. His ideas are not always welcome in that they probe into society to produce some startling results. He is an on-going student of world politics and world military, and is liable to give an opinion on just about anything when asked.

Flowers of Evil
Pbk published May 2008 by Vanguard P at £7.99
ISBN: 1843864134
She had no need to silence it, no need to strap the tape around its mouth, to suffocate its screams. Its coldness and stillness brought her temporary comfort. It helped assuage the terrible need that drove her to unspeakable acts When the badly decomposed body of an unidentifiable woman is found in the long-abandoned garden of a large Victorian house in Bristol during the long, hot summer of 1976, the initially puzzled police struggle to make much headway with the cold case. But, using a cautious blend of forensics, psychology and good old-fashioned police work a sequence of events begins to unravel; a series of careless acts, of coldly-made, long-forgotten decisions that in the endless heat have caused to blossom and flourish again the flowers of evil. The Flowers of Evil is permeated with the gritty, dry heat of that memorable seventies summer in a vividly captured Bristol of decaying Victorian villas, treasured secrets and fractured people, struggling to connect their past with the present.
Kelvin I Jones has written extensively about Sherlock Holmes and his creator, Conan Doyle. He is also the author of many ghost and horror stories and recently published a supernatural children s novel, Odin s Eye . This is the second in the series of crime novels, featuring his detective, John Bottrell. Kelvin is a creative writing tutor for the University of East Anglia, specialising in crime and horror fiction. He lives with his wife Debbie in Norfolk.

Like Father, Not Like Son
Pbk published April 2008 by Vanguard P at £9.99
ISBN: 1843864010
Listen Mark, there s only one way to get rid of your father. I know, I ve not got much feeling for him. The bastard s always held me down. Enter Mark Addison, an amoral, greedy businessman and over-fond of sex. These words from the opening page of the novel explain much of his subsequent behaviour. From the moment his father s murder is planned, Mark is revealed as one of the most selfish, self-seeking characters you are ever likely to meet. The book gives fascinating but disturbing insight into the seamy world of rich business people and the lifestyles of many who are part of their world. We see blackmailers, politicians, criminals disguised as wealthy club owners, especially in the sex industry all preying on each other with a self-serving ruthlessness that leaves the reader wondering what world they inhabit. Mark is in his element. Getting richer by the minute. Cofident! Assured! Invincible! Or is he?
The author spent many years training to qualify as an accountant, then many years in management banging heads together, including his own. But the urge to write finally won and this is his second novel. His first, The Gay Solicitor played a little trick on the reader. The solicitor was not gay. Just light-hearted and carefree in accordance with the original meaning of the word. No tricks this time.
