Dirk Pitt believes three strange incidents dating from September 1858, March 2001 and April to be connected. They involve an aged shipwreck, its grizly crew all frozen, anthropologists trapped by a rockfall in Colorado, and a research ship in the Antartic, nearly sunk by a WWII Nazi submarine.
