To Die in Provence

Provence is more generally associated with Impressionist scenery, glorious food and
wine, and escapism for expatriates of all nationalities, rather than murder. But Norman
Bogner changes all that in his gruesome but entertaining tale of mayhem set in this most
picturesque region of France. Jennifer Bowen, a young professor of art history, is thrilled
to have been hired by Adam Gold, one of the most successful TV producers in America, to
keep an eye on his spoiled 19-year-old daughter, Maddle, while she studies French in
Aix-en-Provence. And Jennifer is glad to get Maddle away from the influence of Boy,
Maddle's boyfriend and ex-con. But Jennifer never imagines the lengths to which Maddle will
go to get what she wants. And what she wants is Boy.
Boy is also in Provence, and he weaves the willing Maddle into a depraved erotic web of
murder and destruction as he seizes his chance to get closer to his beautiful heiress.
'Norman Bogner has drawn extraordinary portraits of two young psychopathic killers who
are all too frighteningly real. Well written and skilfully plotted.' Barbara Taylor

Fairfax Rhys, a film stuntman, is flying a friend's Alouette helicopter up the Gotthard
Pass early one morning, when he sees a Porsche and an E-Type Jaguar apparently racing on
the road below. Suddenly the two cars collide on a bridge and the Jaguar plummets to the
river bank below. Fairfax lands the helicopter and is able to pull out the seemingly dead
driver from the wreckage, before the car is engulfed in flames.
During the course of this rescue, the Porsche driver starts shooting at Fairfax, and this
encounter leads to a desperate chase across Switzerland. Fairfax's life is in constant
danger as he seeks to uncover a sinister plot with worldwide implications.

It had all begun in the most ordinary way: eight friends getting together for drinks
and a companiable evening. It was not to last. Long before the evening was over there
occurred the dreadful happening that was to shatter the remnants of their peace and breed
deep and lasting suspicions. But that was years ago and all in the past. Much of the
horror has receded and the remaining seven old friends are getting on with their lives.
Or are they? Now, eleven years later, new horrors are taking place. Inexplicably, one by
one, those old friends are dying. In this intriguing and dramatic novel Bernard Taylor has
created a story that will grip the reader from the first page to the last.
Bernard Taylor worked as a book illustrator and teacher before going to live in the USA. Whilst there he took up acting and writing, with which he continued on his return to the UK. He now lives in Greenwich.
