From the Author
A very close to true Tru North mystery....from the files....
A while back, I had a friend. Her current whereabouts are unknown. Chimney Rock Blues is her story. She and I met a number of years ago when she was a young woman and I was a young police officer in the wild and wooly west of a Wyoming boom-town. In the event of our first meeting, I arrested her, for good cause. It was probably the precious little maternal instincts that I posses and her need for a 'big sister' which provided the basis for a friendship. As the years passed and I ventured to other states to advance my law enforcement career, we kept in touch. Several years ago, during another one of her periods of incarceration and an investigation into homicides in which I was involved, the basis of the story for Chimney Rock Blues transpired. Names have been changed, locations, and other necessary literary licenses for a fictional construct to protect all concerned.
Chimney Rock Blues reflects the vagaries of life, investigations, and the unanticipated events of what sometimes happens while we are busy making our plans. It was one of the more difficult books to write...but I made a promise...and I keep my promises.
In all the Tru North mysteries, the primary setting is Kansas City, Missouri....I find enjoyment in sharing investigative processes, the intensity and life-style of Tru North, and the city where Tru North lives and thrives. I hope those of you who decide to 'investigate' this book enjoy it too.
