Television work includes The Bill and Softly, Softly, but he is probably best known to viewers as Willy Roper in EastEnders.

Meeting the actress Iris Archer for the first time, Paul Temple was impressed with her intelligence and wrote a play, The First Lady Seaton, especially for her. Initially, Iris is thrilled but before the opening suddenly says she must go to France and will give no further explanation.
