‘Miss Mapp’ is the redoubtable Miss Elizabeth Mapp of Tilling - arch-schemer, a woman of fine habits who spends her days in the bow window of her delightful home noting and annotating the affairs of her neighbours with the aid of her light opera-glasses. Nothing escapes her - whether it be the daily habits of her immediate neighbours Major Flint and Captain Puffin or the under-handed purchasing by Miss Poppit of ingredients for Miss Mapp’s own special iced redcurrant fool.

But at Amazon.co.uk Tony Hawks Playing the Moldovans at Tennis Published January 2000 by Random House Audio at £8.99 ISBN: 1-85686-643-2
Read by Tony Hawks
It all started in Balham. Tony Hawks and his friend Arthur Smith are at home watching the England football team play the little-known Eastern European state of Moldova on TV. The game fails to hold their interest, and, for no reason other than sheer boredom, the pair become involved in a pointless argument about how good Tony is at tennis.
The debate's conclusion is a bet - that Tony can't beat all eleven members of the Moldovan football team at tennis. 'One of them' he reasons, 'is bound to be very good'. And with the loser of the bet agreeing to strip naked on Balham High Road and sing the national anthem, this one was too good to resist.
And so Tony found himself embarking on an extraordinary quest which would see him travel from England to Moldova, from Transnistria to Northern Ireland and eventually to Israel, in an attempt to get Moldovan football players on the tennis court.
And in the end… someone gets their kit off outside Woolworth's on Balham High Road.

Read by Simon Callow
Bertie’s ingenuity is put to the test when Jeeves goes on holiday
Taking a trip to Brinkley Court should be a joy for Bertie. When, however, he discovers that his fellow guests are to include his former fiancée Bobbie Wickham, Mrs Cream the crime writer, Bertie’s favourite brain specialist, Sir Roderick Glossop and his equally popular ex-headmaster, prize-stinker Aubrey Upjohn, Bertie looks set to have a troublesome time.
Affairs of the heart run more smoothly for Jeeves’s ministration
Bertie’s friend Bingo falls in love with every other woman he meets, from Mabel, the waitress at the bun shop, to the Amazonian Honoria Glossop (whom Aunt Agatha has earmarked for Bertie). Naturally there are obstacles to be overcome – the matter of allowances, class prejudices and a lack of revolutionary tendencies. Rely on Jeeves’s super brainpower to emancipate Bertie and Bingo from the tightest of corners.

If ever Bertie needs extracting from the soup, he must call for Jeeves.
Whoever or whatever the cause of Bertie Wooster's consternation - Bobbie Wickham giving away his fierce Aunt Agatha's dog; getting into the bad books of Sir Roderick Glossop; attempting to scupper the unfortunate infatuation of his friend Tuppy for a robust opera singer - Jeeves can always be relied on to untangle the most ferocious of muddles - even Bertie's.
Jeeves defects to the other side
due to the unrepentant playing of his banjolele, Bertie parts company with Jeeves, who finds employment with Bertie's old mate Chuffy. Chuffy and Pauline Stoker (previously engaged to the Wooster chap) have fallen in love, but Chuffy is reluctant to pop the question. So when Bertie and Jeeves cook up a plot to smooth out the course of true love, old entanglements look set to rear their heads…
